A 30-year-old man was shot to death Tuesday inside a restaurant in Austin on the West Side.

A gunman walked into the restaurant in the 5500 block of West Chicago Avenue at 6:40 p.m. and fired shots at a man inside, Chicago police said.

The 30-year-old was shot in his chest and taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

He was identified as Tramaine Hennigan of Chicago by the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

The location of the shooting was Pop’s Place at 5531 W. Chicago Ave, according to the medical examiner’s office.

The shooting happened just over an hour after a 25-year-old woman was shot in an alley around the corner in the 700 block of North Central Avenue. Her condition was stabilized at the same hospital.

Police said the two shootings are not believed to be related, and no arrests have been made in connection to either shooting.
