A man was shot to death Thursday in Austin on the West Side.

Alante Hands, 27, was shot in the arm, chest and leg about 12:35 a.m. as he stood outside in the 5900 block of West Rice Street, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. He was taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, where he was pronounced dead shortly after.

Police said witnesses to the shooting were not cooperating with officers, and further details about the shooting were not immediately known.

No one is in custody as Area Four detectives investigate.
