Man found fatally shot in Cragin

Roderick James Jr., 18, was found with multiple gunshot wounds was found in a vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.

A man was killed in a shooting Sunday in Cragin on the Northwest Side, police said.

Officers responded about 5:10 p.m. to the 5100 block of West Melrose Street and found a man unresponsive in a vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds, Chicago police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified the man as 18-year-old Roderick James Jr., of Austin.

Area Five detectives are investigating.
