Man killed in Austin shooting

A man was shot and killed Sunday in Austin on the West Side, police said.

About 9:13 p.m., 34-year-old Elbert Craig was in the 4900 block of West Hubbard Street when three people approached him and one of them opened fire, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

Craig was struck multiple times in the back and pronounced dead at the scene, officials said. He lived in Austin.

Area Four detectives are investigating.
