Armed robberies were reported in January and February in Altgeld Gardens on the Far South Side.

In each incident, two armed males approach victims, flashed a gun and demanded their property, Chicago police said in a community alert. In some cases the males wore ski masks.

The armed robberies happened during the evening to early morning hours:

  • Jan. 23 in the 13300 block of South Corliss Avenue;
  • Jan. 30 in the 13100 block of South Ellis Avenue; and
  • Feb. 1 in the 13100 block of South Corliss Avenue.
