Several blocks on the North Side were targeted by home burglars, including the 1000 block of West Leland Avenue.

Police are warning North Siders of a series of home burglaries reported in recent weeks in Lake View, Wrigleyville, Lincoln Park and Uptown.

In each case, the burglars forced their way inside through a door or window, Chicago police said in a community alert.

The burglaries happened:

  • Between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Feb. 1 in the 3700 block of North Sheffield Avenue;
  • Between 9 a.m. Feb. 1 and 9 a.m. Feb. 3 in the 900 block of West Oakdale Avenue;
  • Between 7:38 a.m. and 6:55 p.m. Feb. 3 in the 700 block of West Belmont Avenue;
  • At 1:24 p.m. Feb. 3 in the 900 block of West Belmont Avenue;
  • Between 8:50 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Feb. 3 in the 800 block of West Buckingham Place;
  • Between 2:15 p.m. and 3:15 p.m. Feb. 3 in the 3900 block of North Janssen Avenue and
  • Between 10 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Feb. 7 in the 1000 block of West Leland Avenue

The suspects were described as males wearing dark clothing, gloves and scarves or face masks.
