A man was killed in a shooting Friday in Gresham on the South Side.

Officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert about 3:40 p.m. in the 8000 block of South Paulina Street and found Javin Sampson, 18, on the street with multiple gunshot wounds, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

He was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where he was later pronounced dead, authorities said.

Autopsy results released Saturday found he died of multiple gunshot wounds, the medical examiner’s office said. His death has been ruled a homicide.

No arrests have been reported. Area South detectives were investigating.
