A 16-year-old boy was wounded in a shooting in Austin on the West Side.

About 8 p.m. he was standing on a corner in the 4800 block of West Maypole Avenue when someone approached him and shot him in the buttocks, Chicago police said.

He was taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition, police said.

No one is in custody as Area North detectives investigate.
