Thefts from vehicles reported in West Town, Near West Side: police

In each case, the suspect either opened unlocked doors of unattended vehicles or broke the back seat windows and stole items, police said.

Police are warning Near West Side and West Town residents of thefts from vehicles reported in recent weeks.

In each case, the suspect either opened unlocked doors of unattended vehicles or broke the back seat windows and took personal items, Chicago police said in a community alert.

The thefts happened:

  • About 7:30 p.m. Jan. 9 in the 1400 block of West Madison Street;
  • Between 2 p.m. Jan. 19 and 8 a.m. Jan. 21 in the 1300 block of West Washington Street;
  • About 7 p.m. Jan. 20 in the first block of North Morgan Street; and
  • Between 12:45 p.m. and 1 p.m. Jan. 22 in the 1000 block of West Randolph Street.

A description of any suspects wasn’t available.
