Man shot to death in West Elsdon

Ruben Quiroz Trejo was in the 3700 block of West 58th Street about 7:20 p.m. when someone shot him in the head and chest, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 29-year-old man was shot and killed Saturday in West Elsdon on the Southwest Side.

Ruben Quiroz Trejo was walking on the sidewalk about 7:20 p.m. when someone in a vehicle pulled up in the 3700 block of West 58th Street and shot him in the head and chest, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

An autopsy conducted Sunday ruled his death a homicide, the medical examiner’s office said.

Area Central detectives are investigating.
