A double shooting April 19, 2020, left a man dead and another wounded in the 6600 block of South Washtenaw Avenue.

A man was killed and another wounded in a shooting Thursday in Marquette Park on the Southwest Side, police said.

About 6:20 p.m., they were in the 6600 block of South Washtenaw Avenue when someone opened fire, Chicago police said.

Alonzo Bellamy, 41, was struck in the abdomen and taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead, officials said. The Cook County medical examiner’s office said he died of multiple gunshot wounds, and ruled his death a homicide.

The other man, 29, was hit in the arm, thigh and taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in good condition, police said.

No arrests have been reported. Area Central detectives are investigating
