Man fatally shot in Austin

Demario Wyatt was struck multiple times and pronounced dead at Stroger Hospital.

A man was killed in a shooting Friday in Austin on the West Side, police said.

About 6:15 p.m., 25-year-old Demario Wyatt was in the 5900 block of West Potomac Avenue when someone unleashed gunfire, officials said.

He was struck on the arm, hip and taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Chicago police said.

He lived in Austin, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. An autopsy ruled his death a homicide, saying he died of multiple gunshot wounds.

No arrests have been reported. Area Central detectives are investigating.
