A man was fatally shot Friday in Englewood on the South Side, police said.

Officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert about 7:50 p.m. in the 5500 block of South Ashland Avenue and found the 22-year-old with a gunshot wound to the neck, Chicago police said. He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified him as Ezekiel Moores, of University Village. An autopsy ruled his death a homicide, saying he died of multiple gunshot wounds.

Area South detectives are investigating.
