A 20-year-old woman was shot and killed Sunday afternoon while traveling in a vehicle in Grand Crossing on the South Side.

She was in a Ford with two other males about 4:25 p.m. in the 7500 block of South Blackstone Avenue when a dark-colored car sped up behind them and someone inside fired shots, striking her in the head, Chicago police said.

The driver of her vehicle took her to the 6800 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue, where paramedics responded and pronounced her dead at the scene, police said.

She was identified as Shianne Reynolds, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. Her death was ruled a homicide.

Area South detectives are investigating. No arrests have been made.
