Chicago police are warning residents of two vehicle thefts reported in April at a gas station in Chatham on the South Side.

In each incident victims left their vehicles running with the keys in the ignition as they went into the gas station and came back to realize their vehicles were stolen, according to a community alert from Chicago police.

The thefts happened about midnight and about 6:55 p.m. April 24 in the 8600 block of South State Street, police said.
