A 32-year-old man was shot to death Tuesday on the porch of a home in Gresham on the South Side.

He was outside about 8:20 p.m. in the 8300 block of South Paulina Street when someone in a light-colored vehicle shot him, Chicago police said.

He was struck in the abdomen and taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he died, authorities said.

The man was identified Samuel Katherine, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. An autopsy released Thursday found he died from multiple gunshot wounds.

Area South detectives are conducting a homicide investigation.
