Chicago police are warning residents of two businesses that were robbed in March and April in Irving Park and Portage Park on the Northwest Side.

In each case someone entered the store, pulled out a knife and demanded money from the cash register, according to a community alert from Chicago police.

The robberies happened about 6:05 p.m. March 31 in the 4400 block of North Elston Avenue and about 6:07 p.m. April 2 in the 4400 block of North Cicero Avenue, police said.
