A 27-year-old woman was killed after she was shot Tuesday in Logan Square on the Northwest Side.

Alexa Baute was on the sidewalk about 8:06 p.m. in the 2900 block of West Fullerton Avenue when she heard gunfire and felt pain, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

Baute was struck in the chest and was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center in critical condition but later died, police said.

No one is in custody as Area North detectives investigate.
