Police are asking for the public’s help after two churches were burglarized — one of them twice — within the last month in Lawndale on the West Side.

In each incident, someone broke through a window and took property, Chicago police said in a community alert.

The burglaries happened:

  • about 1 p.m. March 22 in the 1500 block of South Sawyer Avenue;
  • about 3 p.m March 31 in the 4000 block of West 15th Street; and
  • about 6:30 p.m. April 1 in the 4000 block of West 15th Street.

The only churches located on those blocks are the Deliverance Temple Church and the Siloam Missionary Baptist Church.
