Two churches burglarized — one of them twice — in Lawndale

The Deliverance Temple Church and Siloam Missionary Baptist Church were burglarized in late March and early April.

A church was burglarized twice in the 4000 block of West 15th Street in Lawndale, police said. Deliverance Temple Church is located on that block.

Police are asking for the public’s help after two churches were burglarized — one of them twice — within the last month in Lawndale on the West Side.

In each incident, someone broke through a window and took property, Chicago police said in a community alert.

The burglaries happened:

  • about 1 p.m. March 22 in the 1500 block of South Sawyer Avenue;
  • about 3 p.m March 31 in the 4000 block of West 15th Street; and
  • about 6:30 p.m. April 1 in the 4000 block of West 15th Street.

The only churches located on those blocks are the Deliverance Temple Church and the Siloam Missionary Baptist Church.
