Police are warning residents about a series of garage burglaries reported since last month in Morgan Park and Beverly on the South Side.

In each case, someone entered an unlocked garage and took bikes and tools, according to a community alert from Chicago police. The suspect also took loose change and valuables from cars parked in the garages.

The burglaries were reported:

  • April 6 in the 10700 block of South Campbell Avenue;
  • April 6 in the 10500 block of South Bell Avenue;
  • April 3 in the 1600 block of West 105th Place;
  • March 21 in the 1700 block of West 105th Place; and
  • March 19 in the 2500 bock of West 109th Street.

Surveillance video from one of the homes showed a man between 25 and 35 years old wearing a black winter hat, a puffy black winter coat and blue jeans, police said.
