A man was shot dead Thursday in East Garfield Park on the West Side, police say.

The shooting happened about 11:35 a.m. in the 300 block of North Pulaski Road, Chicago police said.

The man, 19, was taken to Stroger Hospital and pronounced dead, according to police.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified him as Luis Rabadan, who lived in the neighborhood. An autopsy found he died of a gunshot wound to his back.

Area North detectives are conducting a homicide investigation.
