Three men were shot, one fatally, Monday on the Near West Side, police said.

They were standing in the street about 5:40 p.m. in the 200 block of South Campbell Avenue when someone inside a vehicle unleashed gunfire, Chicago police said.

A 19-year-old was shot in the head and pronounced dead at Stroger Hospital, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified the man as Tyrone Thomas. He lived on the Near West Side.

A 31-year-old was shot in the back, arm and leg and taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, police said. The third man, 28, was shot in the leg and taken to the same hospital in serious condition.

Area Four detectives are investigating.
