A 40-year-old man was shot to death Sunday in Gage Park on the Southwest Side.

Alberto Fayre-Estrada was arguing with someone about 5:15 p.m. in an alley in the 5500 block of South Fairfield Avenue, authorities said.

The other person pulled out a gun and shot him in the abdomen, Chicago police said. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition.

Fayre-Estrada, who lived in Gage Park, was pronounced dead at 11:56 p.m., the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. An autopsy ruled his death a homicide.

Area One detectives are investigating.
