Man fatally shot in Riverdale

Michael Shelby was shot in the head about 8:24 p.m. in the 600 block of West 144th Street, officials said.

A 41-year-old man was fatally shot Wednesday in south suburban Riverdale.

Michael Shelby was shot about 8:24 p.m. in the 600 block of West 144th Street, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. He was pronounced dead less than an hour later.

Autopsy results found Shelby, of Robbins, died of a gunshot wound to the head and ruled his death a homicide, the medical examiner’s office said.

Riverdale police didn’t immediately respond to a request for details about the shooting.
