A 23-year-old man was shot and killed while riding a motorcycle Thursday afternoon in Lawndale on the West Side.

He was riding about 4 p.m. in the 1500 block of South St. Louis Avenue when two people approached him, pulled out guns and opened fire, Chicago police said.

He was struck in the back and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

An autopsy found Taivon Edwards died of multiple gunshot wounds, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

Area Five detectives are conducting a homicide investigation.
