A man was killed in a shooting Thursday in Hermosa.

He was driving about 9:53 p.m. in the 1800 block of North Keeler Avenue when someone in a white-colored SUV opened fire, Chicago police said.

The 23-year-old was struck in the head and pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

He was identified as Israel Carro, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. An autopsy ruled his death a homicide.

Area Five detectives are investigating.
