Man shot to death in Englewood

A man was killed in a shooting Friday in Englewood on the South Side.

Officers responding to reports of shots fired found the 30-year-old unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds at 1:19 a.m. in the 5900 block of South Peoria Street, according to Chicago police.

He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he died, police said.

He was identified as Tristan Mitchell, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. An autopsy ruled his death a homicide.

No one is in custody as Area One detectives investigate.
