A 12-year-old boy was grazed by gunfire Tuesday night as three people were shot and wounded in Parkway Gardens on the South Side.

The boy and two men, 20 and 27, were standing on the sidewalk around 9:10 p.m. in the 6400 block of South Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive when two men came up and shot them, Chicago police said.

The 20-year-old was the only one seriously hurt, taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in serious condition after being shot in the chest, police said. The other man was grazed in the chest and shoulder and was treated at the same hospital.

The boy, who had a graze wound to one leg, declined treatment, police said.
