A 16-year-old boy was killed in a shooting Thursday in Brighton Park on the Southwest Side.

He was found unresponsive about 9:35 p.m. by officers responding to a shots fired call in the 3200 block of West 38th Place, Chicago police said. He had gunshot wounds all over his body and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified him as Michael Colon of Brighton Park. An autopsy ruled his death a homicide.

Police said a white SUV was seen in the area just before the gunshots were fired, and sped away right after.

Area One detectives are investigating.
