Woman, 52, killed in South Shore stabbing

The 52-year-old was found unresponsive in the 2900 block of East 78th Street and pronounced dead at the scene, Chicago police said.

A woman was stabbed to death Saturday in South Shore.

The 52-year-old was found unresponsive about 8 p.m. in the 2900 block of East 78th Street and pronounced dead at the scene, Chicago police said.

She was identified as Alaba Awolola of South Shore, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. An autopsy found she died of multiple sharp force injuries and ruled her death a homicide.

Police said a person of interest is being questioned by detectives.
