Just after midnight, the 17-year-old was walking in the 6700 block of South Jeffery Boulevard when he heard shots ring out, and felt one strike his arm, Chicago police said.

A teenage boy was wounded in a shooting Wednesday near Jackson Park on the South Side.

Just after midnight, the 17-year-old was walking in the 6700 block of South Jeffery Boulevard when he heard shots ring out, and felt one strike his arm, Chicago police said.

The boy was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in fair condition, police said.

Area One detectives are investigating.
