Man, 18, shot dead in South Chicago

The 18-year-old was shot in back and arm Monday in the 8000 block of South Manistee Avenue, police said.

An 18-year-old man was killed in a drive-by Monday in South Chicago.

He was standing on the street in the 8000 block of South Manistee Avenue about noon when someone in a passing car fired shots, Chicago police said.

Frank Williams was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 1:41 p.m., police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

An autopsy ruled his death a homicide, the medical examiner’s office said.

No arrests have been reported. Area Two detectives are investigating.
