Man killed in East Garfield Park shooting

A man was fatally shot Jan. 7, 2021 in East Garfield Park.

A man was fatally wounded in a shooting Thursday in East Garfield Park.

He was found laying face down and unconscious in an alley about 11:20 p.m. in the 3800 block of West Jackson Boulevard, Chicago police said.

The man, 25, was shot in the lower back and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

He was identified as Ismael Carrillo of Warrenville, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. An autopsy confirmed he died of multiple gunshot wounds and ruled his death a homicide.

No one is in custody as Area Four detectives investigate.
