Man fatally shot in Fernwood

About 6:50 p.m., the 35-year-old was in the 10000 block of South Emerald Avenue, when he was shot.

A man was fatally shot Thursday night in Fernwood on the Far South Side.

About 6:50 p.m., Daniel Archer, 35, was in the 10000 block of South Emerald Avenue, when he was shot, Chicago police said.

He was rushed to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Area Two detectives are investigating.
