A man was slashed on the face during an attempted robbery Wednesday in Streeterville on the Near North Side.
The man, 32, was standing outside with a 32-year-old woman about 10:10 p.m. when a male approached them in the 300 block of East Illinois Street, threatened them with a knife and demanded their money, Chicago police said.
The man pushed the would-be robber’s arm away but the suspect jerked it upward, cutting the man on the face, police said.
The man refused medical attention, and the suspect ran from the scene, police said.
Area Three detectives are investigating.
