Man fatally shot in South Shore

Officers found the man laying face down with multiple gunshot in the doorway of his home in the 7700 block of South Yates Boulevard, police said.

A 30-year-old man was found shot to death in the doorway of his home Sunday night in South Shore.

Antwjuan D. Goldsmith was found laying face down with gunshot wounds about 11:10 p.m. in the 7700 block of South Yates Boulevard, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

He was pronounced dead on scene.

Neighbors told officers they heard people arguing before shots were fired, police said.

No one was in custody as Area Two detectives investigate.

The shooting occurred in the 4100 block of South Wells Street. Three police officers and two civilians are in good condition. Two others are in critical condition.
