A woman was released from custody after she was accused of fatally shooting a man over the weekend in a domestic fight in the Avalon Park neighborhood.

The 54-year-old woman was initially arrested in the Sunday murder of Gino Collins in the 7900 block of South Kimbark Avenue, Chicago police and officials said.

Collins, 53, was shot multiple times during an altercation with the woman about 1 a.m. in a second-floor apartment, police said then. He died at the scene and a weapon was recovered.

A police spokesperson on Tuesday said she was released from custody but did not provide a reason why.
