A 17-year-old boy was fatally shot Wednesday morning in Englewood on the South Side.

Officers responded to a report of gunfire about 1:15 a.m. and found the teen with gunshot wounds to his head and face in the 7200 block of South Paulina Street, Chicago police said in a statement.

He was rushed to Holy Cross Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified him as Dajhari Gray of suburban South Holland.

Police were conducting a homicide investigation.
