Man fatally shot in Chatham

Nykere Curtis was shot to death Tuesday in the 300 block of East 86th Street.

A woman was shot while riding a car June 11, 2022 on the West Side.

Kykere Curtis was fatally shot April 13, 2021 in Chatham.

A man was fatally shot Tuesday in Chatham on the South Side. 

The 20-year-old was in the street about 7 p.m. in the 300 block of East 86th Street when someone opened fire, striking him in the chest, Chicago police said. 

He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 7:17 p.m., police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. 

He was identified as Nykere Curtis by the medical examiner’s office. An autopsy released Wednesday ruled his death a homicide. 

No arrests have been reported.
