A person was fatally shot Tuesday in south suburban Harvey.

The shooting happened about 3 p.m. in the 15400 block of Loomis Avenue, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

The victim was shot several times and pronounced dead about two hours later, the medical examiner’s office said.

The medical examiner’s office has not publicly identified the victim, and Harvey police did not immediately respond to a request for details.
