A man was fatally shot Saturday morning in Morgan Park on the Far South Side.
Verico Veal, 25, was riding in a vehicle about 2:45 a.m. in the 11800 block of South Marshfield Avenue when someone in a silver or white SUV fired shots, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.
Veal was struck in the chest, arm and hand and driven to Franciscan Health in Olympia Fields where he was pronounced dead, according to police and the medical examiner’s office.
No one is in custody as Area Two detectives investigate.
Two cars collided about 5:30 p.m. One struck a tree. Two of the men involved appear to have suffered gunshot wounds, fire officials said. They are hospitalized.
