A man was fatally shot early Tuesday in Canaryville on the South Side.

The 29-year-old was in the 4600 block of South Normal Avenue about 3 a.m. when someone in a dark-colored SUV fired shots, Chicago police said.

He was struck in the head and pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office identified him as Ryan Jackson, of South Shore.

Area One detectives were investigating.
