Man fatally shot while driving in Ashburn

The man was driving in the 8300 block of South Keating Avenue Tuesday when someone got out of a green SUV and fired shots, police said.

A 31-year-old man was shot to death Tuesday night in Ashburn on the South Side.

Kamel Othman was driving in the 8300 block of South Keating Avenue about 9:20 p.m. when someone got out of a green SUV and fired shots, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

He was struck in the face and was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead, police said. He lived in the same block where he was shot, the medical examiner’s office said.

The gunman was seen wearing a red T-shirt and black hat, according to police. No one was in custody.
