A 25-year-old man was found fatally shot Sunday in Brainerd on the South Side.

About 6:15 p.m., officers found him unresponsive in the backyard of a residence in the 9300 block of South Throop Street, with a gunshot wound to his head, Chicago police said.

He was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified him as Dashawn Norman, of Brainerd. An autopsy ruled his death a homicide.

Area Two detectives are investigating.
