A man was killed and another wounded in a shooting Wednesday in suburban South Holland.

About 5 p.m., an argument broke out between several people at a “gathering” in the 15200 block of Drexel Avenue when someone opened fire, according to Village of South Holland spokesperson Julia Huisman.

William Brooks, 19, was struck multiple times and pronounced dead about half an hour later, Huisman and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

Another man, 38, suffered a gunshot wound to the leg, officials said.

South Holland police are investigating.
