A 17-year-old boy was fatally shot Sunday afternoon while driving in West Garfield Park.

Kamaree Burnett was driving in the 4800 block of West Ferdinand Street about 3 p.m. when someone on the sidewalk shot him, Chicago police said.

He was struck in the face and crashed into a light pole, according to police. The boy was taken to Loretto Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

No one was reported in custody.
