Man fatally shot in South Shore

The man was in the 2000 block of East 71st Street when someone approached and fired.

A 45-year-old man was fatally shot July 11, 2021, in South Shore.

A man was fatally shot Sunday in South Shore on the South Side.

The man, 45, was in the 2000 block of East 71st Street when someone approached, pulled out a gun and fired, Chicago police said.

Danny Cline was struck in the head, neck and abdomen, and was taken to Jackson Park Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

No one was in custody.
