Man fatally shot in West Town

John W. Blackman was standing on the sidewalk in the 100 block of North Morgan Street when someone in a silver sedan fired shots, Chicago police said.

A child was hurt in a shooting March 18, 2022, in Cragin.

A man was fatally shot July 19, 2021, in West Town.

A man was fatally shot early Monday in the West Town neighborhood.

John W. Blackman, 38, was standing on the sidewalk in the 100 block of North Morgan Street when someone in a silver sedan fired shots just after 1 a.m., Chicago police said.

He suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

There was no one in custody.
