A man was fatally shot July 7, 2021 in Austin.

A man died after he was shot in Austin on the West Side and was dropped off at a hospital by witnesses.

The 26-year-old was shot in the abdomen and knee about 5:50 p.m. in the 4800 block of West Van Buren Street, Chicago police said.

Witnesses drove him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified him as Charles Space.

No one was in custody.
