Man killed in Austin shooting

A man was killed in a shooting Tuesday in Austin on the West Side.

The 31-year-old was near a sidewalk about 2:45 p.m. in the 4800 block of West Fulton Street when someone approached him and unleashed gunfire, Chicago police said.

The man was struck multiple times and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

He was identified as Cortez Ticey, of East Garfield Park, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

Area Five detectives are investigating.
